Arizona Solar Companies: Will the Arizona Cardinals Set an Example for Homeowners?
There are many green products available to homeowners these days. Numerous homeowners have invested in energy efficient appliances, solar panels, and other green products. Still, many others have yet to jump on the bandwagon. However, Arizona solar companies believe that more business and homeowners will begin to go green as it becomes a bigger trend with stars and athletes.
Arizona solar companies suggest that some business and homeowners could be encouraged to go green with a little inspiration from some of their favorite icons. Many movie stars and actors have put their green life styles on full display, and now there seems to be a slowly growing trend among athletes. Steve Nash has become the face for APS’s green energy promotions, for example.
Another Arizona sports entity will soon be in the headlines because of their efforts to go green. As we rapidly head into the NFL’s 91st football season, Arizona Cardinals fans will have lots more to cheer about. This season the team’s home stadium will be fueled by 100 percent pure renewable energy.
The University of Phoenix announced that they have bought 1,135,000 kilowatt-hours of green energy from SRP through the EarthWise Energy program. Arizona solar companies say that this is a huge amount of energy. Most people do not think about just how much energy it takes to power a stadium. Phoenix solar experts believe that the university’s tremendous effort to use clean energy will help create a growing consciousness about just how much energy sports games require. Everything from the stadium and parking lot lights to the concession stands and scoreboard must be powered.
The university has made efforts to go green in the past, but this season they wanted to make an even bigger commitment to the environment. The amount of energy it takes to power a season’s worth of home games is approximately equivalent to the amount of energy that 60 homes would use in a year. Prior to this season, the university has powered the stadium with 100 percent renewable energy for Super Bowl XLII and for a home game against the San Francisco 49ers–who also play in a green powered stadium.
Arizona solar companies believe that people follow in the footsteps of stars and athletes who they admire, and they think that this might inspire many more business and homeowners to go green. They even hope that this will inspire other sports teams to use green energy for their events. Right now, the Arizona Cardinals are one of only a few teams to play in a green powered stadium.
