The Courtballistec and Barricade lines respectively have secured top spots on the tennis shoe market by providing players with the best in durability and support. Other brands have tried to match up to the quality from these two shoe lines, but have repeatedly come up short. The choice for top competitive players is whether they should buy Nike or Adidas

The Adidas Barricades

The newest shoe model, the Adidas Barricade 6.0, brings an impressive amount of improved comfort to the table. Previous models of the shoe were often judged to be lacking in the absorption department. Adidas has responded by creating a cushioning system, stabilized by the impressive heel and midsole, that has propelled the 6.0′s to the top of the line in terms of comfort. Nike Air Courtballistec 3.3

Not to be outdone, Nike has produced a shoe that targets the exact same audience as the Adidas shoe: the super competitive player looking for a hardy and durable piece of footwear. This is the heaviest release of a Nike tennis shoe to date, with a beefed up outsole and upper that mean serious business. Complaints of poor durability have plagued Nike, but they’ve addressed it beautifully with these shoes. Increased heavy duty material through the outsole and toe makes the Nike Air Courtballistec 3.3 a true long lasting option.

In their respective releases Nike and Adidas have improved on their past weaknesses, while expanding on old strengths. The durability of the Adidas Barricade’s have proven to be slightly better in play tests, and for all practical reasons come away a marginal winner. Nike has really outdone Adidas though in the cosmetic areas. The Nike shoes simply look a lot better and sport a more fashionable design that, despite it’s heavy duty weight, doesn’t look bulky or uncomfortable.
