Making Compost With a Compost Spinner

A compost spinner works by making the hard task of turning your compost an easy to do activity which only takes a few seconds. These containers use your organic wastes, things such as kitchen scraps, grass clipping and yard waste, into a rich compost with a high content of organic matter.

When you store your organic wastes into these types of compost containers the composting material is safe from insects and vermin such as rats and squirrels. Composting is a simple process. There are a few major ingredients which are needed, these are a mixture of brown material (such as dried leaves or branches), green material (such as grass clippings), water and air. The major benefit of spinning composters is that you can easily get air into your compost, which is usually a laborious process if you have a simple compost pile.

Compost is used to feed your plants. This black gold, which it is called my gardeners, adds a large amount of organic material to your garden which is essential to the healthy growth of plants. The other benefit of a good compost is that it has a high amount of beneficial microorganisms which aid in the growth of plant roots and also protects plants from harmful pathogens and pests.

Compost is used in many different ways. The main ways which it is used is by spreading it throughout a garden or lawn and watering it in or by adding it to soil which is being prepared for transplants. This is a great alternative to modern chemical treatments as it is a way to organically fertilize your garden. By using compost as fertilizer you are actually protecting your plants from many different types of harmful pathogens, molds and bacteria by making plants healthier. This also detracts pests and insects as they prefer plants with low immune systems.
