The Various Types of Conversion Vans

Conversion vans can be categorized to different types. They are cargo vans that can be equipped by their buyers with additional features that suit his needs or wants. These may be bought more often by large families, government agencies for special operations jobs, or private firms with businesses that entail a lot of deliveries or travel from one city to another.

These vans may have low top or high top features. Low top vans refer to those that maintain the factory roof of the van. They don’t have a lot of space for more features that they got slowly rejected by the general public in favor of high top vans. High top vans have bigger spaces that allow inclusion of TV’s and VCR’s in the 1980’s. Also, their original factory roof can be cut away and replaced by fiberglass roofs. Because the roofs are high, occupants can stand inside the van without bending over.

Let’s move on to the different transformations that may be done with these vans. A travel van can accommodate as much as 11 persons and as the term suggests they are ideal for travel. They can be installed with TVs, DVDs, storage cabinets, and gaming gadgets. Disability vans are generally used for people on wheelchairs. They may have raised roofs as well as lowered or dropped floors. Office vans have an office in the back, a desk and chair attached to the floor, electrical outlet in the office area for computers and telephones. They usually have two seats in the back for passengers. These are most ideal for salesmen who travel a lot.

Lastly, motor homes or camper vans are full-size cargo vans that are lengthened from 17 to 20 feet. These vans have features that can accommodate large groups for camping because they have more amenities such toilets, stoves, fridges, microwaves, sinks and sofas.
