Domain Names Host – Finding Good Web Hosting
I’ve been there. I’ve been at the point where the webhost that I have is just not working out and I need to find another one. Panic starts to eet in because you know it’s going to be a lot like trying to find a needle in a haystack. The best outcome would be to find a domain names host that has great uptime, doesn’t cost a lot and is easy to deal with. You want a “set it and forget it” kind of domain name webhosting so that you don’t have to think about it and you can concentrate on other things.
In a perfect world, a cheap and reliable webhost with great service would exist but we’re not in a perfect world unfortunately. In nearly every case, you get what you pay for. I do believe that there are exceptions. There are some things to look for so that you do find as best domain name website hosting that you can. Here are some tips:
- Talk to other people you know that have websites. They most likely can tell you something. They will either know which webhost is good or which ones to avoid.
- Look for domain name hosting reviews. These can often be biased but if you read enough of them from different websites, then you can usually find some nuggets of truth.
- Pick a domain name hosting service that has been around a while. New ones are trouble because they’re pinching pennies trying to just make it.
- Find out how much support staff is available. If there’s a problem, just having a web host that answers the phone and is a real person can really help and will reduce your stress at that time.
- Don’t get locked into a long term until you’re comfortable with the domain name host. Stick with a month to month contract until you’re sure they’re going to work well for you. Make them prove to you that they are worth your long term business.
Just play it smart and do a gut check. If you’re not comfortable, then move on and find another host. There are plenty out there. You’re the winner because you’re going to get the best price – just don’t go too cheap.
