Are E Cigarettes a Viable Alternative to Tobacco?
E cigarettes also known as electronic cigarettes have been around for approximately four to five years. Many people do not understand what they are all about. The e-cigarette is an electronic device that simulates a real cigarette without all the harmful chemicals in it. Tobacco cigarettes have over four thousand chemicals and cancer causing agents in them including acetone (also used in fingernail polish remover), methanol (also used as rocket fuel), pyrene (a carcinogen), cadmium (also used in batteries), formaldehyde (also used to embalm bodies), and polonium 210 (a radioactive element) to name only a few.
The E-cigarette comes with a lithium battery, a vaporizer with a small chip, controller and airflow sensor, and a mouthpiece that holds the cartridge. An E cigarette looks and taste just like a real cigarette even though it does take a couple of days to get use to using one. You also will receive flavor cartridges that come in different nicotine strengths. The E cigarette cartridges come in a variety of flavors, like strawberry, apple and vanilla. While they look like a real cigarette, they are a little bit heavier.
There have been no reports with real solid back up that electronic cigarettes are good or bad for you. They have helped many people slow down on smoking tobacco cigarettes, and some people have even stopped smoking altogether. It is a personal choice that you have to make. Consider your health and how many harmful ingredients that are in tobacco cigarettes, and I think you can come up with your own conclusion as to which is better for you. E cigarettes should be considered as a way to smoke in a non-smoking environment. They are not classified as a stop smoking aid, but when you compare how many bad carcinogens there are in regular cigarettes compared to these, the choice should be easy to make. Of course when in doubt consult your doctor first. Then make the best decision for you, your health and your finances.
