Futons are both a functional and flexible piece of furniture to invest in. A futon can be a couch as well as an extra bed for over night visitors, or double as a couch and bed in a small studio or apartment. A futon cover is a special fabric cover that protects the futon mattress from stains. The cover can be easily removed and washed in a machine or dry cleaned when it gets dirty. However,  there are luxurious futons made from fabrics such as silk and organic cotton that can cost up to $100 or more. You can buy multiple covers in different patterns so you can re-decorate on a whim. With so many fun colors and styles, it’s hard to just settle on one cover. Since many are priced so low, you can usually afford to buy more than one.
