One of the most important things to note in losing weight are your digestive hormones. These hormones are your ghrelin and leptin. Lack of sleep has shown to decreases leptin and increase ghrelin. Leptin helps you feel full by signaling the brain that you have taken enough, when lacking, it will take you to eat more food to feel full. Appetite is influenced by ghrelin in which it increases your appetite.

More energy for the day

With a good rest and sleep you actually have more energy for the day and for the next. This is very crucial when you are on an exercise program that requires intensive training and workout. Resting and good hours of sleep can also help rejuvenate your body tissues and also cells. Through this simple method energy is replenished. Also, if any pain or trauma is present on your strained muscles or other areas of the body, good rest and sleep can help cure those conditions.

Less stress

Stress is one thing you need to avoid especially when we talk about weight loss for women and at times for men. Stress can actually slow you down and even lead to emotional eating. Stress along with other intense feeling like anxiety, depression and anger, can lead to poor self-control and also focus. One way to avoid stress is through sleeping and proper rest. You feel less grungy and avoid feeling down after a good night sleep.

A recent study has shown that weight loss is likely for people who have good sleeping pattern. Those that sleep in the right amount of time about 8 hours ans at the right period, which is at night,  have shown good results in losing weight than those who have poor sleeping pattern. Though there are no clear connection has been made, speculation is that it affects the basal metabolic rate. BMR probably increases during proper rest and may result to healthy weight loss.

This is very crucial for some people and some may not consider this important. Whatever it is, sleep and rest will always have its role in losing weight.
