Where do People Keep Loose Change?

Written by Original Writer | Posted in Q & A |

For some people loose change is annoying. It weighs down pockets and purses, and often gets passed over for bills when checking out at stores. It’s easier to drop an extra one rather than digging through a handful of change. So where do people keep loose change, if they are looking for a place that won’t weigh them down? There are a few great places to keep it, depending on where it’s being kept; in the house, office, or in the car. And if all else fails, keep a change purse on hand to toss change into for better convenience.

In the car, a great place to keep loose change is in a cup holder. An actual cup can be placed in the holder so that more change can be held. Keeping change in the car can be a useful habit, too. This way there is change immediately available for parking meters and for a cup of coffee. Some people keep their loose change on the floor of their car, though not on purpose. It can fall out of pockets or just get dropped there out of laziness.

In the house, or even in an office, loose change can be kept in a cup or a piggy bank. Some people put their change in big glass jugs. For those that may want to cash their change in soon it is important to keep it in something that allows for easy access. For those thinking about cashing in their change it is also wise to have some change rolls laying around. Banks prefer change pre-rolled when it is brought in. For those saving change for vacation, a rainy day or retirement; a big glass jug is a great place to start dropping all the loose change. The only way to recover it is to break the jug, so wait until it’s full.
