If your interested in buying a pressure washer in the near future to do some heavy cleaning, there is three things you need to consider. Basically the three main mechanisms of 99 percent of all pressure washers is the pump, hose, and nozzle.

Pressure Washer Part #1- The Pump

The pressure washer pump is the most important and critical component. It basically controls how much water and how strong the water comes out. Depending on the make and model of the pressure washer, most pumps are made to fit vertically or horizontally (vertical shape pumps are much stronger). The weight of the pump ranges from lbs per square inch with an output that runs between 1000 to 2500 for typical home users. Some pressure pumps are electric, and if you’re using that type of pressure washer it’s always a good idea to purchase a full kit just in case you need to repair or replace the pump

Pressure Washer Part #2: The Hose

The next most important part of any pressure washer is the hose. The hose is important to a pressure pump because it controls how much water gets pushed out the pump at any given time. For example, a defective hose on your pressure pump will stall the water pressure and eventually make the engine and pump stop working because their working too hard. So when attaching the hose to your pressure pump make sure you have the recommended model for that specific pressure washer.

Pressure Washer Part #3: The Nozzle

Last but not least is the pressure washer nozzle. The nozzle in conjunction with the blower wheels has the responsibility of getting the pressurized water to areas that are difficult to reach. Usually, as long as the nozzle fits your pressure washer then you shouldn’t run into any problems. There are a variety of nozzles available, depending on the cleaning solution to be used, the pressure to be applied, and/or the temperature or the density of the cleaning liquid being used. For each part be sure to read the directions before installing and make sure they are adequate for the intended use.

For me, the best route is buying a pressure washer(gas preferably) that is fully assembled and ready to use. Because buying parts for a power washer can be an daunting task to most. The good thing is since pressure washers come in a wide range of style and models buying . Finally it is always a good idea to check out your pressure washers owner’s manual before trying to install.
