Refurbished Laptops for Sale in Stores
Can you find refurbished laptops for sale in stores? Yes, in fact, you can if you know where to look for them. If you’re merely interested in looking for a somewhat cheap newer laptop that will do its job adequately, there’s a good chance that you’ll do just fine going to a larger outlet like Best Buy. They often have a decent (albeit somewhat limited) supply of new and refurbished laptops that will mostly do what you want. They won’t be very personalized, but they’ll work for most applications.
If you want refurbished laptops that are a bit more personalized, you’ll need to dig deeper than the large chain stores. You’re going to need to go to the smaller neighborhood stores that are often staffed with people who are much more versed in the world of computers than the chain store employee who might have just gone through corporate orientation and a short training course. These neighborhood stores may be able to build you a laptop (or desktop computer) from scratch (with refurbished equipment) with a minimum amount of fuss. If not that, these shops often have ties with the rest of the industry and can ensure that you can get the exact laptop you want for the lowest possible price. All you have to do is consult the yellow pages or online search engine to find out where your local computer stores are. Pay them a visit.
I can, however, recommend one larger chain: If you have one around you, have a look at Fry’s Electronics. I don’t work for Fry’s or have a stake in their business, but I’ve always had great luck shopping there. They seem to have a large selection of new and refurbished laptop computers. You could also check out Best Buy, but please, do not go for the first laptop you see on the shelf! You can do better than that.
