Residential Security Systems
In this day and age, we get absolutely inundated with advertisements day in and day out. I wish I could remember the specific number of exposures we get on a daily basis to ads, slogans, brand names and other forms of marketing… it’s truly a number that would make your head swim. In fact, the reason I don’t recall the exact number, even though I’ve heard it more than a few times, is probably because it is such an astronomically high number that it just doesn’t sink in. Kind of like when you learn how much money a certain athlete or movie star makes… it’s a huge amount, but unless you’re really into tracking that kind of thing, it is just a number with very little meaning. (As a quick side note: do you know and can you truly appreciate the difference between a million and a billion? Think of it this way: A million seconds is twelve days. A BILLION seconds is… can you take a quick guess? It’s thirty three years! Imagine that the next time people are talking about millionaires and billionaires!)
Anyway, back to the point of so many advertisements that it’s easy to become numb to them. However, I recently saw one that made me stand up and take notice. It wasn’t that it was particularly well done or anything, it was just a standard TV commercial. et because of recent things that happened in my life, I suddenly took notice. It was an ad for a residential security system. It simply showed a woman at home alone, who heard a noise that frightened her, and because she had a home alarm and monitoring system, she was able to quickly signal for help. Without going into any personal details, all I can say is that I hope this ad is successful and makes at least a few people think about investing in a home security system. As someone who saw the benefits of one in action, all I can say is that if you are on the fence about getting one, I highly, highly encourage you to go forward with it. When you consider what you have to lose if you don’t, and how you will feel if you have to look back and think “If only…”, it really becomes a no brainer.
When you go out at night for a nice evening out or even for a long trip, you want to make sure your home is protected. Not only from burglars but also from fire. You hear about a lot of strange things happening that start fires. Some appliances seem to have a mind of their own sometimes and just go haywire. Having a security system for your home that monitors your home for you takes these kinds of concerns off of your mind. You can better enjoy your time away from home.
When you are at home, it also makes sense to have a home security system working for you. Some people are heavier sleepers than others and you sometimes don’t hear all that’s going on while you are asleep. To protect your home and family, it just makes good sense to have things monitored for you. You get more peace of mind and sleep better knowing you’re protected.
An added benefit of having home security is that the company that installs these systems usually puts stickers and your doors and windows. These also deter thieves as they’re rather pick an easier target.
Most home security systems consist of door and window monitors along with motion sensors. You can set them to different settings. If you are not at home, you can have more motion sensors turned on. Adding motion sensors connected to lights outside of your home is one feature you may want to look into as well.
Contact a residential security system company to find out what options are available for you. At the end of the day, you’ll enjoy a security system that works well for your home, protects your home and your family and is affordable for your monthly budget, which makes them a win-win for everyone.
