Searching for the Perfect Eraser

It doesn’t seem like it would be that difficult to find a set of bright little erasers from Japan, but it can pose quite a challenge. Even on the internet it can be tough to find exactly what you are looking for. Fortunately there are bookstores in the United States that specialize in carrying goods from Japan. After stepping foot in one of them you might find it difficult to not be interested in more of the collectibles or even the country and language itself.

Japan has been producing amazing things for a very long time and interestingly enough there are many resources online about the country and learning the language. One of the newer ideas with learning the language to actually just immerse yourself in it as much as possible. Forget about how difficult the writing system is, or how different the grammar is than English and just surround yourself with the language as much as possible. Similar to the way a child learns a language by hearing it all the time, adults can pick up the language if they hear it all the time and force themselves to lean more everyday. In addition, trying to think in the language helps to get your brain adjusted to the requirements of the sentence structure of the language.

So if you’re wondering “where can I buy Japanese erasers,” the best thing to do is see if there is a Japanese bookstore near you. These will have everything you could think of from Japan. This is also a great place to look at the books discussing how to learn the language. Things have changed since the internet, but there are still plenty of great resources in textbook format. The nice thing about learning a language is that it all helps. There is a difference in efficiency, but if you are thinking about the language, dreaming about the language, or just looking at the language, you know it is contributing to your eventual fluency in some small way.

So even if it means putting posters on your walls of things from Japan, trying to read books that are much too difficult for you at this stage, having a world of Japanese erasers, and watching movies that are still out of reach, you know you are working towards your eventual goal. Just stick with it and each small part, will eventually have a noticeable impact on your overall knowledge of the language. Just stick with it and you’ll get there.
