Buying Tattoo Kits: 4 Ways to Save Your Money
Tattoo kits typically cost around $150 to $200 for an average kit. This price tag doesn’t put them out of reach of someone who is very interested in learning tattoo work, but it is enough money to where you might have to pinch a few pennies before you can spare the extra expense. Most customers buying tattoo kits tend to be teenage or young adults who don’t have lots of extra money to spend – which is why I want to talk about 4 different ways you can save your money buying a nice tattoo kit.
The first tip I’ll share is quite clever. It involves the use of advertise discount codes. If you look at the ads in any tattoo magazine, you’ll find dozens of tattoo supply vendors advertising their services. In order to better track the effectiveness of their ads in these magazines, they’ll often offer discount codes to be used to save money on your next purchase. This allows them to know what ads are being seen and not being seen. For us, it means a super easy way to save 10% or even 20% simply by flipping through the pages of a tattoo magazine and taking a look at the ads! (Thanks goes to the Tattoo Kit Site for this great money saving tip.)
The second method is very similar except we don’t even have to leave our homes. I’m talking about looking for discount codes online. Trying search for the name of the tattoo vendor company along with the phrase “discount code”, “discount codes”, “checkout codes” and “checkout coupon”. There are websites that track such codes and will freely share them with you simply for going to their site, hoping you’ll click on an ad on the way out and they can make some money too.
The third method is to hit up your local Craig’s List. Might someone local have a tattoo kit they bought for a birthday or holiday that they are reselling online to make a quick buck? You might find a kid who quickly grew bored, realizing that learning the art of tattooing truly takes talent and dedication, and decided he’d rather sell it for $100 than keep practicing. His loss is our gain! See what’s going in your town and do a few searches for “tattoo kits”, “tattoo supplies”, etc. at Craig’s List.
The fourth way is similar – using Ebay and Amazon. There are hundreds if not thousands of sellers between these two mega sites who are pushing tattoo supplies, equipment, and kits at a discounted price. A word of warning though: be sharp about those shipping and handling charges. Sometimes sellers offer a great deal on the surface of it until you realize you’re being charged an extra $20 supposedly for the shipping! But if they’re being legit about it, you can get a heck of a good deal on Amazon and Ebay for new tattoo kits that are being liquidated or were over produced.
