Throw Rugs Make Good Room Accents
Sometimes you’re decorating a room and you’re not sure what to do. You want to make sure the room has a nice, warm feeling to it but you don’t want it to feel too crowded with too much “stuff” in it. There’s a lot you can do and one idea to toss around is adding throw rugs.
Sizes of Throw Rugs
There is a wide variety of throw rug sizes out there. Some are quite small, which is the nature of them being called “throw rugs.” It doesn’t matter too much where they sit in the room and they can be moved around if needed. They’re just being used to fill in some space without actually taking up any room.
Shapes of Throw Rugs
When looking at shapes, feel free to mix it up or else be consistent. That’s the fun part – you can do whatever you like because they’re not really permanent parts of the room. You can change it up next week if you want to. Most of oval shaped or square or rectangular. A larger oval one around a rectangular table can give the room some character.
Picking Out Colors
You’ll want to match the color of throw rugs to the decor of the room so that they don’t become the focal point of the room. With too many competiing focal points in one room, the room can really start to look busy and cluttered. When picking out colors, think about what we mentioned above where you might want to move them around from room to room to change things up once in a while. So you may want to go with more neutral colors that work well in a bunch of rooms instead of a color that will only work in one room of your house.
