Taking on this profession is definitely not done for the money because a veterinary assistant salary is less than impressive, anyone who takes on this position must love animals dearly. However, while most individuals take advantage of on-the-job training, the best possible way to get the highest paying jobs is by getting certified by going to a technical college or distance-learning program which will enable someone to get some higher quality, more demanding positions in the industry.

The majority of duties that veterinary assistants are responsible for on a daily basis have lots to do with tedious and repetitive work like assisting clients, taking payments, working in the reception area, scheduling appointments and answering phones.
