Vizio VSB210WS Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer
I just picked up the Vizio VSB210WS Sound Bar with wireless subwoofer and I’m pretty impressed. Mine was a refurbished unit and I got it from Circuit City online.
I have a 40″ Samsung LCD HDTV (that I love, by the way) and was using an older surround sound stereo system in the past. As I’ve been working on my entertainment center from Ikea, I found a good deal on this Vizio Sound Bar and thought I’d give it a try. I ordered it online and it showed up the next day.
When it arrived, it was easy to set up. All I did was connect it from the output of the Samsung TV, hooked up the power to the sound bar and then connected the power to the subwoofer. Then all you do is push the link button on the sub and it’s up and running. I turned off the TV speakers and just use the remote that came with the Vizio VSB210WS to control the sound. I don’t have to adjust it much.
The sound is quite good. There are two features that it comes with: SRS TruSurroundHD SRS TruVolume and I’m using both. With the SRS TruSurroundHD on, it sounds like surround sound quite a bit – not behind you, of course, but to the sides the sound is very full sounding. The SRS TruVolume really does keep the commercials quiet, which is something I’ve needed since there’s one local channel here that has a lot of problem with regulating the volume with commercials.
The sub is good, too. I’m in a condo, so I can’t really crank it but I know it can get much louder if I wanted. How it’s set right now, it kicks in at just the right time and helps make the sound be really full.
Having great sound really enhances the HD viewing experience. That sounds strange but it’s true. You feel like you in a theater kind of. I have the sound bar positioned right under the screen and it sounds like it’s coming right from the screen.
So if you’re in the market for an inexpensive home theater system with a subwoofer, then this Vizio VSB210WS Sound Bar system is worth checking out. The wireless subwoofer was a selling point for me because I hate wires running everywhere. If they offered some remote surround speakers with this system, it would be perfect. Again, for the money it’s worth it.
